Rotting in the conductors chair of a locomotive was my future if I didn’t do something about it.

When I got home I spent the day binging on the internet.

I think I typed, “how to make money” and …

🔎 That search led me down a rabbit hole, where I stumbled across a “life-changing offer” too irresistible to pass up—tongue in cheek, of course.

In short I met a couple of internet marketing pioneers who were making serious cash selling courses on cassette tapes and then DVD’s.

Their secret? Spamming Emails.

Cringe, I know. 😖

This was before Google—back when the internet was like the Wild West. Digital marketing wasn’t even a thing.

We didn’t have social media other than Craigslist and lead capture back then was scraping the web for email addresses using a pager crawler, loading them into a bulk emailer, and then blast millions of unsuspecting AOL accounts with your offers.

These were Wild Times! But they didn’t last… and before we knew it our ISP’s starting shutting us down.

You know the truth is: I wasn’t interested in building a business. I wasn’t looking for fame or dreaming of being an entrepreneur.
