Pioneering Without a Map š¹
They say pioneers get all the arrows in their backs.
Iāve learned the truth of that statement firsthand.
When I started my journey into computers, coding, and marketing, there wasnāt a roadmap. There werenāt online courses or YouTube tutorials at your fingertips. And there certainly wasnāt a degree program called āGrowth Hacking.ā
Back then, if you wanted to learn, you had to roll up your sleeves, break things, and figure out how to put them back togetherāsometimes better than before.
I didnāt go to school for computer science. I donāt have a formal marketing degree.
Heck, Iām an ex-Army Rangerāa door-kicking operator who learned discipline, adaptability, and how to solve problems under pressure.
Non of it was easy, and when I started learning online marketing there was no formal roadmap. The internet was like the Wild West and I had to figure things out on my own, one challenge at a time.
And hereās what thatās given me:
- 20+ years of turning obstacles into opportunitiesāhelping businesses grow, scale, and succeed.ol for computer science. I donāt have a formal marketing degree.
- 20+ years of solving problems no one handed me answers to.
- 20+ years of building systems that work, even when the odds (and sometimes the tech) werenāt in my favor.
The Struggles of a Self-Taught Geek
Hereās the frustrating part. On paper, I might not seem like much.
No fancy credentials. No āprestigiousā background. No Ivy-League seal of approval.
In fact, Iām a DeVry Computer Science dropout. Formal education couldnāt keep up with meāI was already miles ahead, learning faster on my own.
But give me five minutes in a roomāor on a Zoom callāwith someone, and that skepticism disappears.
Because hereās the thing: Iām a geek, through and through.
Ask me about crafting strategies that drive results, and youāll see my passion instantly.
Challenge me with a broken sales funnel, and Iāll fix it faster than most people can figure out whatās wrong.
Tell me your business goals, and Iāll already be sketching out strategies in my head before youāve finished talking.
Itās not just that I know the toolsāitās that I love the game.
Iām obsessed with figuring out how to make things better, faster, and more efficient. Thatās what being a growth hacker is all about. Itās not about formalities; itās about results.
Arrows in the Back
But letās be real: blazing your own trail isnāt always glamorous.
Iāve faced my share of challenges:
- People doubting my skills because I didnāt have the ārightā degree.
- Getting stuck in rabbit holes trying to learn things no one was teaching.
- Watching others with less experience get ahead because they fit a mold I refused to squeeze into.
Itās frustrating. But itās also fuel.
Every time someone doubted me, it pushed me to prove them wrongānot with words, but with results. Every project Iāve taken on, every business Iāve helped grow, and every campaign Iāve optimized is a testament to whatās possible when youāre willing to learn, adapt, and persevere.
What This Means for You
If youāre reading this and youāve ever felt like an underdogālike you donāt quite fit the moldālet me tell you something: thatās your superpower.
Because the best solutions donāt come from people who follow the same tired playbook. They come from the ones who color outside the lines, think differently, and arenāt afraid to take a few arrows on the way to something great.
So, if youāve got a business challenge, a broken funnel, or an idea you canāt quite get off the ground, letās talk.
I might not look like much on paper, but one conversation is all it takes to see how serious I am about helping you win.
Letās build something incredible together.
